Albums
Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums as well as 4 live albums. There are also compilations. In addition to the release of original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists as well as on soundtracks for films. The band has won multiple Grammy Awards for their work.
Before the formation of Toto the band, members performed sessions for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session percussionist Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs' 1975 album Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to the formation of Toto in the year 1976.
Turn Back, Toto's third studio album, was criticized by critics due to the absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's singer Fergie Frederiksen left the group The group held auditions for the new frontman. The band chose guitarist Steve Lukather, and recorded Fahrenheit in the year 1986.
In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by going through several old tapes and demos to release a special record called Toto XX. The album was a hit by fans and the band went on a tour featuring former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro, and Joseph Williams.
While touring for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun, drummer Leland Sklar departed from the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live set titled Falling in Between, which included live recordings from the tour and an interview with the band.

Toto is a rock band from the United States. It was formed in Van Nuys in Greater Los Angeles in 1977. The six-member group consists of guitarist/vocalist Steve Lukather, bassist David Paich as well as keyboardist/vocalist Steve Porcaro, drummer Jeff Porcaro, and guitarist/vocalist Joseph Williams. In 1983 the band released Toto IV, which earned an international acclaim. The group embarked on an international tour to promote the album following its success. David Hungate, the drummer was also let go following the tour. Leland Sklar took over his place.

The exhibits include toilets, faucets and tableware that have supported the growth of the TOTO brand over the last half century. The museum also hosts special exhibits throughout the year.

Toto has released a number of music videos. The band has also released several compilation videos and DVDs. The most popular video of the band is "Africa", which has more than a billion views on YouTube. The video is set in a library, with the band performing on top of the stack of African books.
The track "Africa" is from the album Toto IV. The song was written by band members and produced by David Paich. It was a huge success in Europe and a variety of other countries. The success of the single helped Toto to regain their fame, after their previous album Turn Back failed to chart in America.
After the album's release, Toto went on a world tour. The group was joined by touring backing musicians Lenny Castro, Shannon Forrest, Warren Ham and Shem von Schroeck. Steve Lukather also released his second solo album, Luke.
In 1985 In 1985, drummer Fergie Frederiksen resigned from Toto due to personal reasons. Toto decided to conduct an audition and eventually selected Joseph Williams to replace Frederiksen.
Prior to and during the time of Toto's formation, its members worked as session musicians for a diverse range of artists. Drummer Jeff Porcaro and bassist David Hungate were on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs which led to the band's formation. Keyboardist Paich was frequent on records by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.
In 1998, Toto began working on an album called Old Is New. The album featured three new tracks and several completed recordings of songs from the past. The album was a huge success worldwide and the band went on a worldwide tour to promote the album.

Toto is famous for their hit single "Africa" Recently, the band reunited to promote their new album, All In. The album, which was released on November 6, 2018, included three new tracks from their forthcoming album 40 Trips Around the Sun as well as a complete recording of four previously released tracks featuring Jeff Porcaro playing drums and Mike or Steve Porcaro playing bass. The album also featured an original cover of Weezer's song "Hash Pipe" which the band decided to include after hearing a rendition on the radio.
